Carter Notch – Last Minute Reminders

It looks like we’re going to luck out this weekend with sunny – but cool – weather in the forecast for both Saturday and Sunday!!

A couple of last minute reminders for those joining us for the hike to Carter Notch this weekend:

  • The weather will be chilly this weekend!! In spite of near summer-like temperatures tomorrow, the forecast for Saturday and Sunday is for highs in the low 30’s and lows in the teens … and that’s for the lower elevations!  Make sure you have warm layers with you for the hike and for overnight in the hut.  For details on the weather, click here.
  • Remember to pack extra socks, extra gloves and a warm wool hat!
  • Street clothes are fine for Friday night, but make sure you have your gear available for changing Saturday morning after breakfast.  You can bring a small duffel along if you wish to leave gear in the cars Saturday before the hike.
  • Finally, don’t forget to bring a copy of the map that’s posted on the website.  Every Scout (and parent!) should have a copy of the map in their possession.

Hope everyone gets a good night’s sleep tonight … it’s going to be a great weekend!
