It’s Scouting Time Again!

Hey Scouts and Parents!

It’s that time of year again when the Troop gets back in gear.  Our first meeting of the new Scout year will be this Wednesday (Sept 7) at 7:30 at St. Mark’s.

We’ll share stories about the summer, look back at our week at Camp Yawgoog, hear from our Scouts who went to World Jamboree this summer and start planning for our year ahead.

Our first outing of the year will be the weekend of September 24th, with a return to Mt. Greylock in western Mass.

This year we’ll take our game up a bit with a 5-mile hike in to camp for the older Scouts.  New Scouts have the option of a shorter 1-mile hike over flat terrain to get to camp.  From camp we’ll assault the summit of Greylock – the highest peak in the state!  We’ll be leaving EARLY Saturday morning and returning on Sunday. Patrols should start planning their menus and reviewing pack loads this week.

Unfortunately, I won’t be at the meetings for the next couple of weeks as I’m traveling on business … but Mr. Lauer & Mr. Makuch will be there to help out!

Looking forward to starting the new year off right and having another fabulous Scouting year!

Mr. Jensen
