2 Week Countdown to Summer Camp

Hey Scouts and Parents!

It’s less than 2 weeks to go until Troop Week at Camp Yawgoog.  Many of you are off at the beach or on vacation or just hanging around enjoying the warm weather.  But the best week of the summer is coming up shortly and I’ve got a few reminders to help get you ready for camp!

  • Everyone should have turned in their med forms by now.  I will be sending our registration in by mail Tuesday and will contact parents directly if there are any issues that need to be resolved before the registration goes out.
  • Scouts should have their schedules planned out – merit badges and programs – and should bring a written copy of their plan with them to camp.
  • Patrol Leaders should have the Yawgoog Aims sheet filled out for their patrol.  We will fine tune the aims on Sunday night in camp.
  • If any Scout has special dietary needs, please fill out the Special Diet Form and contact me directly about your needs.  These forms need to be delivered to the Food Services Director the week prior to camp on Tuesday, July 17.  I must have your form by Monday, July 16.
  • Parents of Scouts requiring medication of any type – prescription or OTC – should review the Medication section on our Summer Camp page for the Troop’s medication policy.
  • Scouts should review the Packing List and start to get their gear together for Camp.  Don’t forget water bottles, sun screen and bug spray!  All personal gear should be labeled with the Scout’s name and Troop number.
  • Don’t forget your uniform!  Full Class A uniforms are required during camp.  This includes Scout pants/shorts as well as the uniform shirt.  (Scout uniform shirts do not go with plaid shorts or bathing suits!)  Please make sure that your rank and position patches are up-to-date!

If you have any questions before camp, please feel free to drop me an email!
