It’s Scouting Time Again!

Scouts and Parents,

It’s that time of the year again! Families back from the beach; Students returning to school; and Scouts is starting back up for the 2013/2014 Scouting year!

We have updated he calendar on the website with important dates, including tentative outing dates and the date of our first meeting of the new school year.

This Wednesday night is our Leadership meeting.  The Patrol Leader’s Council (SPL, ASPL and Patrol Leaders) are required to attend, but there are no other meeting activities for Scouts.

Our first meeting of the year will be held the following Wednesday – September 4th – from 7:00 to 8:30 at St. Mark’s Church.

We have scheduled our Fall Court of Honor for September 25. Scouts who did not receive Boards of Review or who have additional Merit Badge Blue Cards to submit (all camp badges and advancement have been recorded) should submit their paperwork for advancement as early as possible.  Final date for you to submit advancement for recognition at the Fall Court of Honor will be September 11.

We have placeholder dates for the outings, with the September outing scheduled for September 14-15. We will have more details on this first outing of the year at the first Troop meeting.

Finally, if you have friends or acquaintances interested in joining the Troop, now would be a good time to reach out and let them know that meetings are starting up next week.  We hope to have the opportunity to add some new Scouts to our ranks this fall and the best time to get them involved is right at the start of the 2013/2014 season.
